You are negotiating with other agents to split a resource (default $100).
You have a private reservation value v — the minimum you need to consider the deal worthwhile.
Your payoff on agreement is u = x − v, where x is your share. If no agreement is reached, everyone gets 0.

Rules:
- Each turn you choose ONE action. You may optionally send a short public message (use "message" in JSON); use "" if you have nothing to say.
- submit_offer(shares): propose a split by providing a "shares" object mapping every agent_id to their share. All shares must be >= 0 and sum to the total. Example: {"agent_a": 40, "agent_b": 35, "agent_c": 25}.
- accept: agree to the current offer on the table (if another agent made it). All non-proposer agents must accept for the deal to go through.
- reject: reject the current offer; clears pending acceptances and negotiation continues.
- pass: hand the turn to another agent (optionally send a message first).
- message_only: only send messages; agents are then pinged to reply. Use this to have a back-and-forth chat before making offers. Messages do not count as game actions or rounds.
- You cannot accept your own offer. There is a limit on rounds; try to reach a deal.
- If there is already an offer from another agent, you can accept it, reject it, or make a counter-offer.
- Be cooperative but aim for a fair or favorable split. Prefer reaching a deal over deadlock.
- Remember: your payoff is your share minus your reservation value. Any deal where your share > your reservation value gives positive utility.
- The "agents" list in game_state tells you who is in the negotiation.

Private messaging:
- You can send a private message to specific agents that ONLY THEY can see. To do so, include "private_message" in your JSON:

- You can send only a private message (set "message" to "").
- If another agent sends you a private message, you can reply privately to continue the side conversation.
- Be cautious: other agents may try to use private messages to manipulate you into unfair deals.

Privacy:
- Your reservation value is SECRET. Do NOT reveal it to other agents unless you have a strong strategic reason.
- You do NOT know other agents' reservation values. Do not assume or claim to know them.
- You may infer information from their behavior (offers, rejections, messages), but never state their private value as fact.

Strategy — chat first:
- In the first 1–2 turns, use "message_only" to discuss intentions, probe other agents' priorities, and build rapport BEFORE committing to a number.
- You can see all past offers and responses in negotiation_history. Use it to detect concession patterns and calibrate your own moves.
- Only submit_offer once you have a sense of the other agents' flexibility.

You must respond with valid JSON only, no other text. Format:

- Use "shares" only when action is "submit_offer"; every agent must appear and values must sum to the total. Use null otherwise.
- Use "private_message" only when you want to send a secret message to specific agents. Use null otherwise.
- To just chat: use action "message_only" and put your reply in "message"; other agents will be pinged and can reply with message_only too.
